My Dream Guitar

I've played guitar for about 12 years now, I think. Recently, my passion for the instrument has flourished. Everyday after work, the first thing I do is pick up my guitar and start playing. Depending on my mood i'll strum, wail, or melodically pick the strings of my guitar. Yesterday was a wailing sort of day and I managed to snap two strings in the same solo. How the hell did that happen? No too sure, but I got the slice on my left knuckle to prove it lol. Anyways, I have a nice collection of guitars, but would certainly like to expand. Currently I own, a Fender supersonic, Yamaha pacifica (both electric), a no named classical guitar, a Takamine acoustic, and my baby right now, the Ovation acoustic/electric. My new dream guitar is the Epiphone black beauty. Ironically, black beauty is what i named my Ovation. So I got to get it. It's rather expensive and i was hoping my trip to Atlantic City would allow me to purchase the guitar upon my return. This goal wasn't met so now its back to saving pennies. Here's a pic of my new dream guitar. Let me know what you think. I think its pretty damn sexy if you ask me. Later.

Not so lucky

Well this trip to AC wasn't so fortunate. We all lost, but had still had a good time. We stayed at the Borgota which is an awesome place to stay. Too bad the Casino wasn't so pleasant lol. We left and went to the Taj Mahal where I turned everything around and was even up a little bit. I was on fire until I was dragged away by the rest of the group to go back to the Borgota. Of course I lost it all once I got back there. Overall, a good trip, did a hell of a lot of gambling, but unfortunately did not leave on the plus side. Better luck next time right?

Atlantic City hear I come

Tomorrow morning some friends and I will make our return to Atlantic City. I watched a couple of my friends cash in pretty good last time we went. I didn't make as much money, but was up enough to go have some fun. So hopefully we can all be fortunate once again! Our game is Roulette and it is a game of pure chance, or luck. There are probabilities, but calculating all the math just spins you in circles. So I choose Red or Black. Technically its a 47.9% due to have a green 0 and a green 00 on the wheel of numbers. This gives the Casino a 5.76% edge on each bet we place. I'm willing to take my chances. Hey, that's what gamblings all about right? I will check back in on Monday. Wish me luck! Have a great weekend!

2009 NBA All-Star Game

The West overcame the East in the 2009 NBA All-Star Game with a score of 146-119. The game was filled with high flying slam dunks, precision passing, and sharp shooting. When it was all said and done it was Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant sharing the all-star MVP award. This was the first time the two had played on the same team since the 2005 playoffs when the Los Angelas Lakers lost game 5 of the NBA finals to the Detroit Pistons.

The Starry Night

In my English 112 course we are analyzing an Anne Sexton poem, "The Starry Night." It was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's painting, "The Starry Night." Any incite on the poem would be helpful and appreciated. It goes as follows:

The town does not exist
exept where one black-haired tree slips
up like a drowned woman into the hot sky.
The town is silent. The night boils with eleven stars
Oh starry night! This is how
I want to die.

It moves. They are all alive.
Even the moon bulges in its orange irons
to push children, like a god, from its eye.
The old unseen serpent swallows up the stars.
Oh star night! this is how
I want to die:

into that rushing beast of the night,
sucked up by that great dragon, to split
from my life with no flag,
no belly,
no cry.

Lost Untangled

I know that I am a day early, Lost isn't on until tomorrow, but i am just too anxious. I feel it is a must to catch everyone up before tomorrow so that we can all be properly prepared.

Here is your brief recap of last weeks episode "The Little Prince."

Charlotte awakens after the latest flash and her, Locke, Sawyer, Juliet, Faraday and Miles head for the Orchid station.

Kate asks the lawyer challenging her custody of Aaron who his client is, but he refuses to identify the person. Kate decides to follow him to his client.

Sayid regains consciousness and is attacked in the hospital. He defeats his assailant and he and Ben go to get Hurley while Jack goes to Kate.

On the island, Sawyer sees Kate in the past, helping Claire deliver Aaron. Then there's another flash and she's gone. Miles notices his nose is bleeding.

The beach camp looks destroyed. Sawyer's group takes an outrigger and sets off to circle the island toward the Orchid station.

The outrigger comes under gunfire while in the ocean, but another flash saves Sawyer's group from attack only to place them in the ocean on a stormy night. The group heads for shore.

Jack and Kate follow the lawyer to a hotel where Claire's mother is staying. Jack confronts her, but Claire's mother doesn't even know Aaron exists.

Sayid and Ben meet the lawyer and he informs Ben that Hurley will be let out of jail soon.

Sawyer's group makes it to shore and finds mysterious wreckage. Juliet gets a bloody nose.

A lifeboat full of French castaways pulls Jin out of the ocean.

Jack, Kate, Ben and Sayid meet at the docks. Jack tells Kate that they all need to go back to the island and Ben reveals that he's been the one challenging her custody of Aaron.

Sun arrives with Aaron to meet the group at the docks. She's brought a gun and plans to shoot Ben.

On the island, Jin wakes up on the shore and is questioned by his French saviors. Among them, a young, pregnant woman identifies herself as Danielle Rousseau.

Tune in tommorow night on ABC at 9 p.m. to see what happens next!

A new way of life

The unfortunate news about my bad gall bladder, and other ailments has finally brought me to an epiphany. I must change my habits in order to support a healthy lifestyle. The right food is necessary to promote cell and nerve growth. Excerise is a must. This may seem like common sense, but for me health was a foriegn concept. The past few weeks I have made a drastic changes, by eating right, sleeping and attending Xsport fitness nightly. I encourage you all to join! It is most definitely the nicest gym at the cheapest rate. The gym includes, lap pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, rock climbing wall, treadmills, elipticals (all w their own flat screen), and wieghts for everyone. Everyone needs to exercise wether they're in shape, or not. Hopefully my motivation will inspire others to take the first step into a life of healthiness.

Until next time,
Jake
